About

Welcome to Always Applachia

This website was created by two women from western North Carolina with family roots in southern and central Appalachia.

We had shared photos and family stories many times and had talked about creating a facebook group or blog to preserve those memories and share the natural beauty of our area with others, but it was always just a thought.

In the aftermath of hurricane Helene, we and our children wanted to do something too help our communities and Katherine's daughter came up with the idea of making t-shirts or crafts with her youth group to raise funds for locals and groups that were helping them. Raine had some experience with etsy, and she and her son had done t-shirt and graphic design in the past, so the website was set up and we began working together to create designs to represent our community, with a long-term vision of adding items that reflect appalachia, beyond just the storm and eventually selling jewelry and craft items from locals as well.

Thank you for visiting and supporting our work.

15% percent of proceeds will always be donated to charities within Appalachia.

At this time, through at least March 2025, 50% of profits will go to organizations on the ground and directly supporting hurricane and flood relief and rebuilding efforts in Western North Carolina.
